Schools shut down, markets in disarray, some countries even in a lockdown – this is the global impact that has been caused by the COVID-19 Coronavirus. This virus originated in the Wuhan district of China in December 2019 and, in a few months, has become a worldwide pandemic. The virus spread is similar to that of influenza, where a person is exposed to the virus because of coughing and any other form of respiratory droplets.
Coronavirus, when it affects a person, comes out in the form of cold, dry cough, and fever. If an infected person’s saliva touches a surface, then that surface becomes a host for the virus. Any person who touches the surface, for example, a doorknob, a napkin, or even the button of an elevator then there is a chance to contract this virus.
How to prevent Corona?
- Avoid going to places where there is a crowd and if you have to go there then wear a mask.
- Maintaining personal hygiene in a good way is one of the best ways to ensure that you don’t contract the virus.
- Sanitizing and hand hygiene – Wash your hands several times in a day and use hand sanitizers before and after touching things in a public place.
- Another important thing to do is to stay hydrated. Lack of water in our body causes the cells to go dry and it becomes a breeding ground for the virus.
- Similarly, keep putting oil or ghee in your nostrils (one to two drops every few hours) as dry nostrils can be prone to infection.
- Rest well, consume fresh food and freshly cooked food to ensure that your immunity levels don’t go down.
